I've received several inquiries regarding if training offered by Liza's Garden "counts."
The short answer, yes! Liza's Garden trainings meet the licensing and registration requirements for family, group family, school age programs and child care centers.
The longer answer....
As with any topics that directly impact your license or registration, when in doubt, you should contact your licensor or registrar directly to ask. OCFS and Child Care Resource and Referral Agencies are usually not allowed to suggest or recommend certain trainers, but if you are already aware of a certain trainer, such as Liza's Garden, they should be able to confirm my good standing as a trainer. Be aware when calling an agency that profits from your business, they may try to sway you into taking their classes. If what they are offering meets needs for you or your organization, please feel free to use them. If you need something else, I'm here for you!
I possess the NYS T-TAP which is the early learning trainer credential administered by NYAEYC and used by Aspire and ECETP (and by extension OCFS) to determine if a trainer is qualified to instruct and what topic areas.
So what does New York State require? Take a look at the regulations for your modality of care on the Office of Children and Family Services website. Click on this link to go to the regulations page, then click the type of care you provide, then section 14 to find regulations regarding training.

You can find me and trainings I offer listed on the New York Works For Children training calendar (also known as Aspire) as well as on the ECETP website.
I am a Licensed Training Provider (LTP) with the American Red Cross, which means your First Aid and CPR courses, when completed successfully, result in certifications (you receive a Liza's Garden Certificate at the conclusion of the course, and a digital certificate/card within 48 hours. Printed cards can be mailed upon request.
Timing matters! The time of your application, approvals, trainings, and renewals and mid points are all critical dates. Let me know of any special requirements and I will try to find suitable training options for you. If you are uncertain how timing might affect your training needs, or your staff, please let me know, and we can work through this together!
What I don't do... at least not yet:
Currently, I do not offer online courses, though I am offering a pilot CDA distance learning class.
I do not anticipate offering CEUs at this time, though if there is enough interest, I will certainly consider the option.
Workshops presented by me at conferences are approved as training, however, I may not have input into certificates or documents used at the conference. Please contact those organizations hosting conferences directly. Links to the organizations will be posted whenever possible.
